An illustrated talk by Anindya Mukherjee
Platform: Zoom Meet
Dream Wanderlust is delighted to present Anindya Mukherjee once again for the third installment of our lecture series. Some of you may already know him as a celebrated Indian mountaineer and an explorer, a seasoned author, and a proclaimed storyteller.
In the third session of our Lecture Series, he brings you the "Secrets of Kangchenjunga".
In his own words,
"Kangchenjunga, as a mountain massif, as a group of mountains, always fascinated me, just like it must have fascinated many other Bengalees since childhood.
There are many reasons for Kangchenjunga being almost engraved in our mind and dreams, and in our culture. Satyajit Ray's film - 'Kangchenjunga' and nostalgic memories of childhood while trekking on the Singalila Ridge, or going to Darjeeling are the backdrops that you grow up with.
My interest to investigate the unknown and intricate folds of that very mountain started in late 2010. To be specific, it started when I got curious by the problem of Zemu gap.
My investigative exploration on the great East Ridge of Kangchenjunga started in March, 2011. In this talk, I'm going to cover all my exploratory trips, done on the certain aspects of great East Ridge of Kangchenjunga over the years.
In the process, I will share what I have learnt, what I have found, and what is still waiting there to be found.
If you're interested in exploration of Kangchenjunga or just in adventure, do register, do sign in. By doing so, you'll also be supporting an independent adventurist whose career and livelihood depend on adventure."
