36 Indian climbers from Transcend Adventures are all set to climb the highest peak in the world, Everest (8848m) from Tibet side in this spring season.
The team also includes 55 sherpas, 2 medics, 33 support staff and 3 Base Camp managers other than the climbers. This whole expedition is led by Shekhar Babu Bachinepally. The climbers are about to complete their acclimatization process before the final summit bid. "The whole team has divided into two groups. One group has already touched 7500m for the acclimatization rotation and today they are coming back to the Base Camp for rest. The second group is at the Advanced Base Camp (ABC) which is now at an altitude of 6400m. This group will touch the 7700m in next 2-3 days for acclimatization. The whole activity will be completed by 8th of May. The weather may deteriorate after 8th. Summit bid will depend on the weather forecast and the rope fixing team," said Bachinepally from the Everest Base Camp, Tibet side. However, the route opening team is yet to fix ropes up to the summit. The recent update says Sherpa team has already fixed ropes up to Camp-3 (8300m).
