A team from Kolkata, India, to climb Mt. Sudarshan without Sherpa support
Dream Wanderlust | Aug 24 , 2017
A team from Kolkata plans to attempt Sudarshan Parbat (6507m) in the Garhwal Himalayas without any support from Sherpa or High Altitude Porter. The team will leave kolkata on 24th August, 2017. They will attempt Sudarshan by the East ridge.
Junior members have an additional plan of climbing the neighbouring peak Saifee (6161m) by its North-East face.
Leader of the team Rajsekhar Maity says, "Reaching the summit is not our only plan. Rather, we are considering Sudarshan Parvat as a test-case for evaluating our skills in 'Alpine style climbing', where we will be doing everything on our own, from route-opening to camping." "Our junior members will attempt Saifee subsequently. However, they may take help from High Altitude Support Staff if they require", he added.
