A team from Maharashtra is all set to climb Mt. Manaslu (8163m), 8th highest peak of the world, in this autumn season. The team consists of 3 climbers from Giripremi, Maharstra, Umesh Zirpe (52), Akshay Patke (26) and Ashish Mane (27). Team is accompanied by Mrs. Dikky Sherpa from Kathmandu. They have already reached samagaon (3500m), Nepal. Umesh zirpe, leader of the team says from Samagaon "weather is now fine. Tomorrow we are heading towards the Base Camp (4700m). Then after performing puja we will start our actual expedition from 15th September. We have to set up our Camp-1, Camp-2, Camp-3, and Camp-4 i.e. final Summit Camp. Approximately in the last week of September or 1st week of October, we are expecting our summit push."
At least 150 climbers from across the world are all set to scale Manaslu in this autumn season. The rope fixing team has already fixed the rope up to Camp-3 and are waiting for good weather to fix the rope all the way up to the summit. South Korean climber Sung Taek Hong is going to attempt his fifth climb to Mt. Lhotse (8516m) from South Face. Spanish mountaineer Jorge Egocheaga is also joining the team. However, Jorge has already climbed Everest 14 times before this. In Dhaulagiri, Carlos Soria's team has already set up Camp-3, waiting for favorable weather window to open the route up to the summit.
