Alex Txikon Announces Winter Expedition to Annapurna 2024-25

The Basque alpinist Alex Txikon is set to embark on an expedition to Annapurna this coming winter. According to their press release, Alex and his team will depart for Nepal on November 22, 2024. He will be accompanied by two highly experienced climbers: Mattia Conte from Italy and Waldemar Kowalewski from Poland. However, they have yet to disclose details about their chosen route and climbing style. 

Last winter (2023-24), Alex and Mattia Conte attempted Annapurna but were forced to abandon their expedition. After completing three rotations on the mountain, they lost their gear and equipment at Camp 3, which made it impossible to continue.
