A joint effort by Indian Air Force, Indian Army, Border Road Organisation, police along with local administration, resulted to recover a total of 2595 people who were stranded at different places due to the natural disaster caused by heavy rainfall and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh last week.
However, 305 roads are yet to be open as per the latest information from disaster management team. “BRO is working rightly to make those roads functional at their earliest. We estimate to open all roads in coming three to four day's time,” says Prem Singh from Secretariat of HP. “The route to Kaza via Rohtang Pass is still closed and to be opened tomorrow possibly,” he added.
The following steps taken by Disaster Management Team on 27th September 2018:
- 5 Choppers of Indian Air Force have been deployed for the aerial search and rescue in Lahaul & Spiti.
- 74 people who were stuck, already have been rescued through Airlifting by IAF in the Dhalpur ground.
- All the children stranded in Holi and Bharmour, are evacuated safely today.
- 36 Students, Teachers and other members have been airlifted from Chamba to Pangi.
- 200 litres Kerosene oil, 200 litres Diesel and 850 food packets have been airlifted to Sarchu for stranded people in the area.
