IMF reduces 50% Peak Fee to encourage foreigners to climb Indian Himalayas

Dream Wanderlust | Jan 26 , 2020

The Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) has decided that, it will offer a 50% discount on handling charges to encourage foreign climbers to visit the Indian Himalaya.

The revised handling charges would be effective in the current climbing season of 2020. Foreign climbers and expedition organisers previously had to seek permission from the Ministries of Defence and Home Affairs in order to climb these peaks. They can now directly apply to the IMF for permits. However, no discount will be provided for Liaison Officer(LO), Equipment, Hire Charges, and it remains same as applicable. Terms and conditions other than what have been stated will remain unchanged. The details of the new discounts which have been put into effect have been attached.
