Italian climber found dead on Dhaulagiri

Italian climber Simone La Terra (36) was found dead on Dhaulagiri. Simone was supported by the Prestige Adventure. According to Mingma Sherpa, the climber died while climbing towards Camp 3 yesterday. Cause of death is yet to be informed to the Department of Tourism, Nepal.
Besides his numerous attempts on eight-thousanders, Simone had successfully reached summit of five of them without using supplemental oxygen or Sherpa help. In 2006, he reached the summit of Shishapangma, first of his eight-thousander summits. Next year he summited Broad Peak. In 2008 and in 2009 he successfully climbed Gasherbrum ll and Cho Oyu respectively. He also climbed Manaslu in the autumn of 2011.
