Legendary Scottish Climber Rick Allen (68) died in an avalanche while attempting a new route on the SE Face of K2 with Spaniard Jordi Tosas and Austrian Stephan Keck in Alpine style. Rick was mainly renowned for completing the first ever traverse of Mazeno Ridge on Nanga Parbat with British Alpinist Sandy Allan in 2012. In 2018 he was dramatically rescued while descending after his solo summit on Broad Peak via a new route. He was feared missing on 9th July, 2018. On 10th July, his movement was spotted by a drone and then rescued by David Roeske, Fredrik Sträng and Tenji Sherpa from Summit Climb.
