Sophie Lavaud summits Manaslu to help raise funds for her project 'Mahila'

A Franco-Swiss climber, Sophie Lavaud set foot on the 8th highest peak, Mt. Manaslu (8163m) on 26th September, 2017 at around 8 am. This is her 7th summit of 8,000m which makes her the "56,000 lady".
Sophie Lavaud is halfway through to the club of 8000. She is the first French and the third woman in the world to have entered the club. She is the brand ambassador of Norlha, a non-profit NGO based in Switzerland.
Sophie Lavaud is not only realising her dream by conquering the world' highest mountains but also helping women in Nepal realise theirs. The aim of her climbs is to help raise funds for Norlha's recent project – "Mahila" which means woman in Nepali. It supports women whose husbands have migrated from their native place.
