South Calcutta Trekkers Association Climb Nanda Devi East

Pradip Bar, Phurba Sherpa & 3 other Sherpas (names are yet to come) from South Calcutta Trekkers Association, West Bengal, India climbed Mt Nanda Devi East (7434m) at 11am on 15th September 2019. Team has returned to the summit camp safely. They are expected to return back to the Longstaff Col camp (5910m) by tomorrow.
The expedition team consisted of 4 members, Rajsekhar Maity (leader), Upal Chakraborti, Pradip Bar, Ashish Gupta and 5 Sherpa climbers. They reached the Advance Base Camp (4910m) on 3rd September. They had established five camps before reaching the summit.
Sumit Dey of the South Calcutta Trekkers Association talked to Dream Wanderlust, “today at around 11am five climbers from the team have successfully climbed Nanda Devi East. Earlier, among the climbing members, Pradip and Rajeshekhar occupied summit camp. From the summit camp Pradip Bar along with four Sherpas summited the peak and returned back to the summit camp at around 3pm today. Subsequently, Leader Rajshekhar called via Sat phone updating us about the events. Tomorrow they would descend to the Longstaff Col. Weather has been favourable so far.”

More than 4000m of rope was fixed between ABC & Summit.
