Ten killed , eleven missing , as avalanche hits NIM Advance Course

28 trainees and instructors of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering were trapped following an avalanche in Draupadi Ka Danda-2 peak. Eight have been rescued by surviving team members.
Rapid, relief & rescue operations are underway by the District Administration involving NDRF, SDRF, Army & ITBP personnel.
Two Cheetah helicopters have been deployed by IAF for rescue & relief ops in Uttarkashi area where the mountaineering team of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering was hit by an avalanche. Other fleets of choppers have been put on standby for any other eventualities.
