Women Team from Maharashtra climbed Kang Yatse I and II

Giripremi's team of women mountaineers scaled Kang Yatse-I (6494m) and Kang Yatse-II (6270m) in the first week of August. The team members were Priyanka Chinchorkar, Smita Karivadikar, Padmja Dhanvi, Sneha Gude, Sayali Budhkar, Anjali Katre.

The first team consisting of Priyanka Chinchorkar, Samiran Kolhe and Smita Karivadikar summitted Kang Yatse-I on 2nd August. The other team consisting of Sneha Gude, Sayali Budhkar and Anjali Katre summitted Kang Yatse-II on the same day. Priyanka Chinchorkar, the expedition leader and Padmja Dhanavi summitted Kang Yatse-II on 5th August.

Kang Yatse-I

Mingma Sherpa, Sanjiv Roy, Ming Temba Sherpa and Sunny Sharma were the guys who supported the team throughout this expedition and White Magic provided the critical logistic support.

Kang Yatse peaks are located at Markha valley in Ladakh. The route has loose rocks and is a steep climb. 550-meter-long stretch from Camp 2 to Summit challenges the climbers as there are 15 to 20 ice walls positioned in 70 to 80 degrees angle.
