A team from West Bengal lead by Malay Mukherjee reached the summit of Mount Nun (7135m), the highest peak of Zanskar on 12th July, 2016.

The team comprised of Malay Mukherjee, Sk. Sahabuddin and Kuntal Karar and four Sherpas, viz. Pemba Sherpa, Pemba Tsiring Sherpa, Beer Bahadur and Purba Sherpa. They successfully summited from the team of 32 climbers. This was a joint venture of the Howrah District Mountaineers and Trekkers Association (HDMTA) and The Metal and Steel factory, Ishapore.
